Inishowen Maritime Museum

The Museum is located in the old coastguard station on Greencastle harbour, overlooking one of the busiest fishing fleets in Ireland, with magnificent views over Lough Foyle and Co. Derry. It is situated beside the Greencastle - Magilligan ferry.

The Planetarium gives us an insight into how mariners used to navigate, and provides dazzling star and light shows.

A Drontheim or "Greencastle Yawl" the traditional fishing boat of the Northern Irish coast and a direct decendant of the Viking....

Our "Fun With Science" programme for this season includes rocket launches.....

Beside the museum is the Inishowen Maritime Memorial, recording the names and dates of people lost at sea from the Inishowen Peninsula.
