Attention Science Educators, Model Builders and Everyone Interested in Space Science!
You can build and fly your own rocket the Same Day!

These are not toys or water rockets – they’re the real thing, streaking hundreds of feet into the sky on a pillar of fire and smoke! Students get easy-to-build rocket kits, containing everything they need to build a rocket in two or three hours. Our instructors teach students the theories of rocket propulsion, flight dynamics and stability while helping them assemble the kits in our classroom.
Safety is paramount: No one, not even the instructors, handles dangerous chemicals or rocket fuel. When the kits are completed and safety-checked, students are given a single-use, pre-loaded rocket motor to insert in their rocket and sent to the launch pad. There, an instructor installs an electrical igniter, puts the rocket on the pad and arms the electrical launch panel. Students launch their own rocket and recover it under parachute, ready for another flight or to display at their school. You can fly it the same day you build it (weather permitting).

Introductory sessions in rocket-building can be scheduled at the museuum by booking through reception or email. (Plan on about 3 hours.) The €5.00-per-participant "Rocket Class Fee" covers your instruction and €20.00 covers a rocket kit and motor. (Students can each build their own personal rocket, or team up with others to share a kit.)
And, as you can see, students of all ages are welcome! Don't worry about being a beginner - we'll give you all the help you can stand!
